Supply Chain Data & Systems Intern

Praxair's Global Procurement Materials Management (GPMM) organization is currently seeking a student for our 2019 Summer Internship Program. The student should be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Mechanical Engineering.
Our interns collaborate regularly with equipment suppliers, individual technical experts, engineering contractors, construction contractors, plant maintenance and plant operating personnel, and other project team members. The goal of our internship program is to provide hands-on practical experience for the student while potentially developing the individual to take on a full-time role with Praxair post-graduation.
SKILLS OR PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
Strong Excel skills, data analytics, course on ERP systems, SQL skills, completed coursework, etc.)
This person should have knowledge of Finance, Procurement or supply chain management. Strong MS office skills such as PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE/BUSINESS JUSTIFICATION:
This person will work on various Procurement projects such as:
Analyze supplier consolidation opportunities by commodity for B & C type suppliers
Purchase-to-pay testing and implementation (Ivalua, Ariba)
Documentation of standards and new work processes, including videos, process flows, etc.
Update or create individual records (e.g. Vendor Master, Material master, Service Master, T&E, contracts,), (Ivalua, another pilot, SAP MDG-S, SAP SRM)
Digitalization initiatives for time and $ savings opportunities
Build Excel, OBIEE, Tableau reports for GPMM KPI and reporting needs by extracting data from ERP systems
Upload projects and savings into GAP/ PowerSteering reports
Upload or data extraction from tool (e.g. SRM, SharePoint, eBrevia) - SQL knowledge helpful
Detailed analysis of different spend (on Group level, Operating Segment, Regional Business Unit, Country, Category, Sub-Category, Product including CAPEX and OPEX analysis)
Re-designing reports to make more efficient or create Nintex or SharePoint automated workflow processes,
Various other GPMM initiatives. This person will also be a part of local, regional and global management meetings.
Highly creative with initiative and drive
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proven track record of personal accountability and success throughout their academic and professional career
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred
