As an R&D Intern, you will be part of a small group of experts working on various structural aspects of the design of the cold box. You will be involved in research,planning, and execution of projects relating to structural modeling and dynamic analysis of steel structures. We are looking for highly creative individuals with initiative and drive, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities along with demonstrated success throughout their academic career is a must. This position will give you experience with complex, high impact, industrially relevant problems, with an opportunity to use your fundamental knowledge of structural engineering. Interns will also be given broad exposure to Praxair's business, engineering, and marketing functions.The successful candidate will have a degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering, with a strong background in steel design and dynamics of structures.



  • Pursuing or recently graduated with a Masters or Doctoral degree in Civil /Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Doctoral degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of structural/building codes and standards of practice

  • Structural modeling and dynamic analysis

  • Structural Finite Element Analysis

  • Staad/SAP 2000, ANSYS, Matlab or equivalents

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong academic record
