Description

Praxair Distribution, Inc., a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking Biological Equipment Product Manager to join our team. Position can be based anywhere in the U.S. near a major airport or metropolitan area.

The Biological Equipment Product Manager provides field support for our cryogenic freezer storage equipment as well as driving direct sales of our products and services for cryogenic freezers. Position will be responsible for development of the segment strategy and the organization's products and services nationally through the following activities: customer engagement, training, market research, analysis of market needs, competitive trends, creating promotional strategies and materials.

The Biological Equipment Product Manager will work closely with the national and local sales organizations to train andassist in acquiringnew customer accounts in these key segments.Position will also be responsible for generating new sales for these products with existing or new customers and will be held accountable for achieving sales growth objectives. The position requires independent discretion and judgment in management, strategic alignment with departments, regions and other business units within Praxair.

Successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of the selling process and experience in our industry and skilled in business development and commercializing offerings.

Biological Equipment Product Manager

  • Designs and implements marketing plans and new business initiatives for Praxair in within market segment

  • Provides sales and marketing support to PDI's regional sales teams

  • Provide training to general sales force and specialist

  • Develop regional plans and lead commercialization efforts for all new growth initiatives

  • Interfaces with counterparts within business units to share marketing best practices

  • Will have responsibility for part of a budget

  • As a recognized expert within the organization, researches and resolves issues relative to technical questions, pricing, proposals, status, market data and varied complex issues

  • Anticipates business challenges including analyzing locations that are under-performing with respect to market share and recommending competitive action plans for improvement

  • Interfaces and works with research and development

  • Promotes sales and focuses on sales quota and new business development

  • Contacts existing accounts and cold calls (onsite & phone) potential targets

  • Responsible for gross profit improvement and securing new business through individual efforts and regional/local efforts

  • Improves the profitability of existing accounts by fully understanding value propositions

  • Supports and implements marketing plans, promotions and new product launches

  • Secures long term relationship by negotiating product supply agreements

  • Accountable for providing complete and accurate account set-up and pricing data

  • Maintain list of target accounts by generates and qualifying new business leads

  • Conducts competitive intelligence

  • Demonstrates products to new account customers

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 10 years of sales experience in biological market

  • Up to 75% travel required within the U.S.

  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision in a complex environment

  • Demonstrated experience working with large teams
