Description

Praxair Surface Technologies (PST), a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking a Production Technician - Operation Technician in our New Castle, PA plant.

Production Technician - Operation Technicians perform a wide variety of tasks in the areas of part preparation, part handling, shipping/receiving, maintenance, and general housekeeping with the expectation of meeting customer needs and expectations.

Production Technician – Operation Technician

  • Working safely is our number 1 priority!!

  • Workingundermoderate supervision, theincumbentperforms the following duties.Theseinclude but are not limited to:

  • Performs all aspects of part preparation including cleaning processes, maskingtechniques,stripping processes and grit blastinginaccordance with job instructions,standard cards and customerspecifications

  • Responsible for handling customerparts throughouttheproduction process.Thiswould include using cranes,forklifts and carts to load/unload cubicles and totransferparts to and from the various work areas

  • Performs aspectsof post coating finishinginvolvingbut not limited tobrushingtechniques on screws, blades,disperser rolls,shrouds etc.

  • Recognizes faulty operationof equipment by sight and sound, makes minorrepairsand adjustments,performs routine preventive maintenanceand cleans equipment as required (IE: grit Blasting, stripping, and brush finishing equipment)

  • Performs a variety of tasks in shippingand receiving.These include but are notlimited to: unloading and unpacking parts and materials, verifying counts andinspecting items for damage,adequatelypacking partsand loading for shipment

  • Maintainsaclean and orderly work area and practices good generalhousekeeping at all times

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School degree or GED is required

  • 2 years’ experience working in a production/manufacturing and/or plant environment preferred

  • Ability to complete training in the use of cranes and forklifts for moving customer parts and fixtures as well as formal training and certificationin electrolytic stripping

  • Ability to work from written instructions

  • Strong focus on quality with the ability to multi-task

  • Must be able to work overtime and the shift outlined in the posting
