Description

Praxair Surface Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Praxair, is a world leader in surface enhancement coatings with a broad array of technologies and applications supported by a global network of plant sites.

We are currently looking for an Applications / Manufacturing Engineer in our Manchester, CT facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Development activities associated with key new applications and opportunities in thermal spray.

  • Work with PST’s customers, R&D and business leadership, this person will bring new applications to market in the global aviation and industrial markets.

  • Responsible for complex engineering projects.

  • Performs project engineering work from initial tooling and process design to production implementation in accordance with customer and Praxair quality and safety requirements.

  • Participates as a key contributor on project and technical teams and may provide technical guidance to others as assigned.

  • Works independently and makes technical decisions based on full awareness of viability, cost, and safety.

  • Develops and implements innovative solutions.

PST is a supplier which abides by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As such, persons considered for this position must be either a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder) or otherwise classifiable as a U.S. person under relevant ITAR regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Requires Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred, Mechanical Engineering, 0-5 years of experience, with background in robotics and CAD Design.

  • Travel required approximately 25%, may include international travel

  • Materials or thermal spray background a plus.

  • ABB robot experience a plus

  • Knowledge of gas turbine industry preferred

  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
