TheWest Region is currently seeking a Safety & Environmental Specialist, whereyou will have responsibilities for facilities in CO, AZ, WY, and NM areas, aswell as some Standard Plant facilities. The job will be based in theLoveland, CO area.

Thesuccessful candidate in this role collaborates with employees and supervisorsto identify and correct potential safety and health hazards and environmentalsituations, provides compliance assurance and assistance from a strategic andtactical standpoint to a specific area of responsibility. Implements safe andenvironmentally compliant standard work practices with line personnel andmonitors conformance through safety and environmental inspections. Assurescompliance with organizational and government environmental, health and safetystandards. Monitors organizational environmental, safety and healthperformance, and provides employee safety and environmental training andcompliance tools.

Scope:

Thismid-level professional position applies advanced safety and environmentalknowledge at multiple facilities to all safety and environmental areas - fleetsafety, personnel safety, process safety, and environmental - in order toprotect the health and safety of all company employees, as well as thesurrounding communities and environments in which the company operates.Provides leadership, guidance and assistance in the prevention/control ofaccidents and incidents to a specific area of responsibility.

Working Conditions:

Thisposition operates in both office and field environments and requires 50% travelwith some overnight stays. Must be a self-starter and self motivatedindividual. Must be able to manage multiple tasks. Must have the ability towork with all levels of management. This is not a consulting job. Must be ableto provide hands on support.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with linemanagement to ensure support is provided in achieving zero/zero performancegoals in safety, health and environmental.

  • Implements safe andenvironmentally compliant standard work practices with line personnel.

  • Identify opportunitiesto improve safety performance and take proactive actions to implement.

  • Monitor local OSHA(e.g. PSM), EPA (e.g. Title V), and DOT requirements and standards along withcompany policies and standards to ensure compliance.

  • Support allaccident/incident investigation, reporting and facilitation of Root CauseAnalysis.

  • Perform industrialhygiene monitoring.

  • Prepare and submitenvironmental reports as required by regulations and permits.

  • Provides active supportto site locations by training employees on requirements and assisting the siteto ensure environmental permit compliance, and developing environmental andsafety compliance assistance tools.

  • Support plantTurnarounds and maintenance activities.

  • Work closely with Plantmanagers to achieve safety and environmental compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • 4 years of safety or operations experience required

  • 50% travel required
