Quality Control Technician


Praxair Electronics, asubsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric,process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services &technologies is seeking a Quality Control Technician in Kingman, AZ.

The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for testing and inspectingchemicals and gases that support the semiconductor industry, at various stagesof the production process by compiling and evaluating data to determine andmaintain quality and reliability of those products via databases andspreadsheets.

Quality Control Technician – 2nd Shift

  • Perform routinestandardizations, calibrations, and SQC analyses to ensure that testing andinstrumentation are functioning properly and accurate.

  • Performs routineand non-routine analyses of pure and mixed high pressure gases to meet customers’requirements and specifications.

  • Accurately enter sample data in PIMS andinterpret chromatography system results.

  • Worksin any of the following areas of quality control: incoming material, processcontrol, product evaluation, inventory control, product/instrument studies,corrective/preventive action (CAPA) and response flow process (RFC).

  • Performs routine maintenance, or troubleshooting on analytical instrumentsand sample panels.

  • Generates a daily passdown log of the completed and currenttasks that are in process or completed.

  • Reports variances, discrepancies, failures, policy deviations and latedeliverables to leadership.

  • Collaborate with multiple internalcustomers and assist other team members to effectively complete project workand improve procedures by red lining Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Generates and maintains statisticalprocess control charts/reports and maintenance logs.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Position is Second Shift 2:00pm - 10:30 pm

  • Candidate should have an AA or BS degreein science or equivalent experience, HS/GED required

  • Trouble shooting and repairing of Gas Chromatographs and otheranalytical instrumentation highly desired.

  • Self-motivated and having demonstratedexperience working with multiple internal customers and possess strongorganizational and time management skills.

  • Must be a team player with good peopleskills and the desire to develop new skills that will benefit the team.

  • Good PC skills, utilizing Microsoft Word,Excel, LIMS, Statistical and Chromatography Data Systems.

  • Abilityto work in a fast paced environment, adapts easily to changes and attention todetail.

  • Good communication skills both verballyand in written form.

  • Strong organizational and multi-taskingskills together with the ability to effectively manage project deliverables.

  • Good basic mathematical aptitude required- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and round in all units of measure,using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multipletasks, prioritize work assignments and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.

  • Willingness to work around hazardous material.

  • Maintain a safe working environment by following establishedhealth and safety or Praxair Standards

Must be willing and able to work 2nd Shift (2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.)
