Capital Projects Director

Description

Job Purpose: Lead the West Region efforts to evaluate new capital project opportunities, ensure successful completion of approved projects, manage the West Region's capital budget.

Scope:Accountable for all West Region growth, cost reduction, and working budget capital projects and achieving productivity savings.

Reporting Relationships:This position reports to the USIG West Region Vice President.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage in on-site and pipeline sales opportunities, ensure involvement of key stakeholders, and assist sales in developing winning commercial models.

  • Create ProjX models of varying complexity and provide financial analysis in support of the sales organization’s project opportunities.

  • Assist the sales team with evaluation of contract renewals with respect to residual contract value and competitive alternatives

  • Work with product management and sales on identifying, developing and obtaining approval for merchant expansion.

  • Develop the region’s annual capital plan and provide capital spend reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis to leadership and operations.

  • Work closely with region operations, cost reduction engineers, and GSS project teams to ensure capital is spent efficiently, is properly prioritized, and remains within capital plan limitations.

  • Lead the region’s capex approval process and development of project presentations for the USIG, OOC, and CEO capex process

  • Perform periodic fixed asset reviews at existing facilities

  • Perform miscellaneous analysis and provide financial training for region initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (engineering preferred)

  • MBA preferred

  • 5 years of experience (preferred in the following areas: project development, project engineering, on-site sales, operations, or financial analysis)

  • Must be capable of detailed discounted cash flow analysis (NPV, IRR)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (clear worksheet structure, pivot tables, graphing)

  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and good written communication skills

  • Must be willing to relocate to Phoenix, AZ.
