Administrative Assistant

This position is responsible for most of the day-to-day activities of theregional office. This may involve reception duties and/or clerical and administrative support.

Major responsibilities (Duties may include but are not limited to):

  • Prepare timecards, invoices, purchasing records and other related documents

  • Audit and ensure the accuracy of all regional office / vendor transactions

  • Identify billing errors and securing their timely resolution

  • Proactively maintain and reconcile purchasing records while establishing excellent

external relations between the regional office and vendors

  • Maintain and update the regional office’s computer information system

  • Provide clerical support to the staff employees, establish job priorities to meet scheduled

and non-scheduled requests

  • Maintain and balance petty cash

  • Input and maintain Provincial pressure vessel registration for the Region.

  • Purchase all recursive items

  • Negotiate procurements for any office-related items

  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of Praxair administrative procedures and guidelines

  • Fill in for other administrative functions within the office as assigned

  • Other duties as assigned by the manager



- High school graduate

- 2 years experience working as an Administrative Assistant

-Previous experience in vendor relations and plant administration (Nice to have)

- Experience with MS Office especially Excel and Outlook

Other considerations:

- Self motivated individual, capable of working with minimum supervision

- Team player who works well with others

- Strong customer focus and attention to detail

- Excellent communication and computer skills

- Working knowledge of the CU system
