Description

Praxair Surface Technologies (PST), a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking a Customer Service and Order Manager for our Industrial Coating Services Plant located in Charlotte, NC. This facility performs a thermal spray process to customer owned parts in order to create a wear resistant, corrosion resistant, or thermal resistant surface.

The Customer Service and Order Manager will create policies and procedures related to customer service and formulate plans for implementation of any changes. He/she will also ensure that the team develops an ongoing relationship with customers and sales staff. This person will be accountable for implementing defined organizational priorities, plans, and objectives. He/she will partner with business management, marketing and/or sales force to develop key metrics for tracking customer satisfaction and address elevated/complex customer service issues.

The individual in this role should thrive in a fast pace multi-tasking environment. They are responsible for the daily operations of the Customer Service Team that is accountable for order entry, supporting the sales team and directly interfacing with Production and the customer on order issues and status. Team is responsible for day to day customer contact, working closely with plant personnel (cell leader, team leaders, sales, etc) in scheduling customer orders and responding to customer inquiries.

Customer Service

  • Managing a small team of experienced customer service representatives

  • Directing the delivery of administrative and operational assistance designed to promote revenue growth, productivity, and exceptional levels of customer satisfaction

  • Providing data and sales forecasts for production scheduling and materials requirements

  • Assisting sales in reviewing or performing market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates

  • Coordinating liaison between various departments such as sales, manufacturing, and quality

Order Entry / Administrative

  • Utilize Oracle ERP to enter and generate invoices

  • Provide Reports and Information for audits

  • Assist in Shipping department, scheduling and tracking freight, Import/Export Requirements

  • Maintain cross reference file and current quotations

  • Responsible for visitor lobby and office area

  • Reception area including greeting visitors, oversee mail area, printers, office supplies and will need to have a high degree of interest working in a busy environment with the ability to multi-task.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 5 years related experience

  • Ability to Communicate Effectively and Hold Team Accountable for Deliverables

  • Service Manufacturing Customer Service experience strongly preferred

  • Prior leadership experience required

Proven Decision Making, Conflict Resolution, and Delegation of Tasks to Support a Strategy

PST is a supplier which abides by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As such, persons considered for this position must be either a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder) or otherwise classifiable as a U.S. Person under relevant ITAR regulations.
