We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Lead Data Architect to join our talent team of Information Technology professionals in our Danbury, CT location. This position is responsible for operating across organizational silos designing data management and cloud solutions to maximize reuse and efficiency based on architectural standards and business processes.

Lead Data Architect Responsibilities:

  • Leads the organization in thought and application of modern technologies such as big data solutions, data ingest methods, data analysis techniques and cognitive analytics.

  • Reviews and develops governance processes and policies with risk owners ensuring these policies align with current strategies and techniques.

  • Works with subject matter experts to provide consensus based solutions that align with business strategy and are scalable, reliable, available and manageable.

  • Develops models to address specific business needs and problems by leveraging local and cloud based solutions, data, databases and integration systems and practices.

  • Applies interdisciplinary skills to assist with identification of any performance problems or gaps in functional coverage presents findings and makes recommendations to internal and/or external clients.

  • Provides strategic guidelines to the delivery teams by understanding the overall ITS environment from the following perspectives:

  • Cloud provider capabilities

  • Data system performance and scalability

  • Data integration and ingestion standards

  • Solution upgrades and roadmaps

  • Technological risks


Required Experience:

  • BA in CS or MIS, or equivalent work experience in cloud and data systems management.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Flexibility in thought and ability to influence and negotiate to achieve consensus.

  • Demonstrated experience managing cloud hosted infrastructure/services and orchestration/automation tools.

  • Experience in the following - RDBMS (Microsoft SQL, Oracle DB), Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Pig, SQOOP, MapReduce), NoSQL DBs (Mongo, Cassandra, Hbase)

  • Skilled with strategy, application, and implementation of enterprise scale IT solutions.

  • Specific knowledge of modern data visualization and discovery tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
