Praxair currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Diversity Coordinator to join our talented team of Human Resources professionals in our Danbury, CT headquarters.

This position will primarily work with the Director to oversee the 4 areas of Praxair’s Diversity & Inclusion program : (1) tracking, collecting and reporting diverse talent data by business groups and functions (2) executing, planning and communicating inclusion initiatives to ensure that positive and productive relationships are established and maintained with diverse affinity group associations and external organizations (3) planning global diversity training projects, including working with external training vendors to refresh content and (4) working with corporate communications and external benchmarking and survey organizations to enhance Praxair’s global diversity brand. This position will collaborate with the Praxair talent acquisition, talent management, training and development, corporate communications, university relations, HR directors and other external facing functions as needed to maximize the benefit to Praxair. External Diverse associations and organizations will cover various ethnic groups, women, people with disability, veterans, LGBTQ and millennials. This position will also be responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Talent Development along with the Director of Global Diversity, Inclusion and US Talent Acquisition.

Diversity Coordinator Principal Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Global Diversity and Inclusion to oversee the annual Diversity Action Plans and activities of each business and function, including but not limited to, tracking, collection and reporting talent data in the diverse hiring slates and the various programs to assess progress in each business.

  • Partner with HR Generalists in all business units and departments to develop annual Diversity Action Plans. The Diversity Coordinator will collaborate with each business to track and report metrics, plan inclusion initiatives and training events.

  • Planning training projects and initiatives for each business unit,

  • Manage diversity vendor relationships, including managing invoicing and expenses.

  • Collect and input data for annual surveys with DiversityInc., Human Rights Campaign, Working Mother and other credible diversity benchmarking organizations.

  • Partner with Corporate Communications and Global Giving to negotiate the level of sponsorship with diversity organizations resulting in recruiting, branding and goodwill for Praxair.

  • Work with the Global Branding and Public Relations team to assess diversity branding opportunities and update the diversity website.

  • Organize and coordinate inclusion initiatives for the various heritage and diversity day activities and other events associated with Praxair's sponsorships of diverse affinity groups and associations.

  • Support and organize diversity career fairs at schools and other organizations in partnership with University Relations and Talent Acquisition team.

  • Coordinate business meetings

  • Handle domestic and international travel arrangements

  • Process expense reports

  • Provide assistance with various projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with an Internship preferably in Human Resources, Public Relations, Communications, or Corporate Responsibility is required

  • 2-5 years’ of corporate work experience preferred

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Strong data analytics with experience in Excel

  • Excellent Project planning skills

  • Community relations experience a plus.

  • Knowledge and experience working with not for profit community organizations, preferably those focused on issues impacting diverse communities.

  • Strong computer skills with an aptitude and desire to learn new systems

  • Exceptional verbal, written communication skills and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
